Shopping List and Costume

All i needed to purchase for my music video was a black and red split dye wig as this is a significant style piece recognised by the original artist. Along with that, i paired some heavy duty black boots with a short black skirt, white top an black corset-like top. I thought to complete the look I would have my performer wear ripped tights, to emphasise the roguish look developed by the alternative aesthetic. For make up, I did red eyeshadow with heavy black eyeliner, I also did the ends of her eyebrows opposite black and red to the wig but due to the fringe they couldn't be seen.

Song Choice

The artist I have chosen is Melanie Martinez, and her song 'Fire Drill' which was originally played as the credits song to her film-movie 'K-12' but was released as a single alongside 'Play date' at the end of June 2020. I chose this song because it is in protest against current society expectations, how media has such an involvement in events, and making cynical comments about the government. I am personally quite fond of the artist, as her music often faces issues such as rape or the education system, but i am personally like this song because of it's very current themes relating to social media and expectations.
