Drafts

So I rounded up all my footage and decided to put it all together using iMovie, but the outcome was very weak and lacked what I was envisioning for it. With this in mind I decided to try some new techniques, using a more professional program, final cut pro x, and after being shown a few editing techniques and using 3D models and extra footage, I was much happier with the outcome as it became a lot more engaging.  First Draft Second Draft/Final

5 Sections For Video

The 5 sections I am going to use are: A woodland path; Full shot - Capturing the performer spilling 'gasoline' on a dollhouse and setting it alight In an empty room; Medium shot - Here the performer will have people pull and tug at them, their clothes, and take off their make up and forcefully paint their face with other colours and brushes. The background elements of other people doing things to the main performer will be sped up, while the performer remains the same speed. In front of a projection screen; Close up - Here the performer will do most of the lip syncing and won't move too much other their their mouth to say the words. The background will project the lyrics onto them.  Wide Space, beside a barrel; Full Shot - The performer will burn political posters and propaganda and drop them into the barrel - fire safety. In front of fire exit signs; Close up or Medium shots - The performer will dance in front of the exit signs, likely in slow motion

Story Plan

The music video itself will not have any particular narrative, but will be - through the behaviour of the performer - a protest against social expectations. The use of fire will be throughout the majority of the song as it represents the dislike and ability of the performer to rid of what they dislike to ashes. The main performer represents someone taking off an artificial facade and attention seeking personality, lying and hiding from family, dressing up into a way which defies who they are as a person, and keeping their opinions to themselves. The second and antagonistic performer will put out their flame, trying to mute their opinions and ideas.

Original Images

Image One: The first shoot will be of books/schoolbooks set aflame - a knocked over candle leaning onto the pages. This relates to the school theme of the song. Potentially, the performer will be holding one of the books which is set alight. Image Two: The second image will be of the performer standing beside a dollhouse which is on fire. Image Three: Burning propaganda posters such as Donald trump or Boris. Image Four: Performer sitting central, lots of hands reaching out with make up or trying to grab the performers clothes. Statement of Inten

This is my statement of intent which highlights and explains some of the main features of my music video, as well as talking about the website and other features linking to it and how they attract the audience and set the stage for the artist and their song. Statement of Intent
